Job summary

The Goddard School in Frederick, MD is seeking a passionate Teacher to join our Infant & Toddler team, focused on nurturing young learners and ensuring their safety, development, and well-being. You will create engaging, play-based lesson plans aligned with early childhood standards and monitor each child’s progress while collaborating with parents and staff.

MARYLAND 45/90 hour certification is required; First Aid/CPR preferred.

Qualifications

• Maryland 45/90 Hour Certification required.
• Experience with preschool-aged children in childcare or educational setting.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in early education.
• Strong caregiving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a classroom.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain it upon hiring.
• Excellent communication with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards.
• Educate students in language, math, science, and social skills through play-based activities.
• Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment for diverse needs, including disabilities.
• Provide infant care as needed, ensuring proper hygiene and comfort.
• Monitor and assess each child’s progress and milestones.
• Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom to promote exploration and creativity.
• Administer first aid when necessary and ensure health and safety compliance.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience.
