Full-time Position, Five days per week, 40 hours per week, 12 months a year

General Description

The Infant and Toddler Teacher promotes and develops the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and linguistic growth of infants and toddlers. They ensure learning environments are nurturing spaces that support all children's development through responsive caregiving in a well-organized environment. They provide an educational and development-focused environment, manage age-appropriate classrooms, and build strong relationships with families to support children's healthy development, school readiness, and well-being.

About You

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dedicated, passionate about helping infants, toddlers, and families grow, personable, energetic, empathetic, and capable of managing multiple staff, projects, and goals in compliance with Head Start Standards.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credentialed in Infant and Toddler or an Associate Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or similar.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License, Personal Vehicle, and Liability Insurance. In states with public transportation, a valid state ID is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least two (2) years of recent paid experience in a childcare or preschool setting.
  • Knowledge of Head Start Standards and local licensing requirements.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Responsibilities
  • Teach and promote a nurturing learning environment following approved curricula and standards.
  • Maintain a safe indoor and outdoor environment, conduct daily safety checks, and report any issues.
  • Follow health and safety policies, report hazards, and ensure supervision of children.
  • Create a welcoming atmosphere respecting cultural backgrounds.
  • Participate in supervision and coaching sessions.
  • Adhere to conduct and guidance policies, and follow attendance and cell phone policies.
  • Implement curriculum and maintain data documentation systems.
  • Engage parents and families to promote involvement and positive guidance.
  • Assist with classroom needs, attend trainings, maintain facility security, and support other classroom activities.
Physical Demands

Ability to see, hear, lift infants/toddlers up to 40 lbs, and perform physical activities such as sitting, bending, kneeling, and stooping for extended periods. Reasonable accommodations may be provided.
