Job Description

The Teacher is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the Creative curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Teacher must communicate effectively with children and adults, guide teacher assistants, and address parental concerns.

Key Responsibilities

1. Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
2. Lead by example; encourage team success through modeling and coaching.
3. Plan age-appropriate activities to promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
4. Maintain communication with parents through discussions, reports, and conferences.
5. Ensure compliance with center policies and state regulations.
6. Create a healthy classroom environment, maintaining hygiene, cleanliness, safety, and security standards.
7. Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure adherence to planned activities and safety standards.
8. Keep accurate records and documentation.
9. Engage in continuous professional development for quality improvement.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of childcare experience.
• Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred).
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential required.
• High energy and enthusiasm.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, children, and parents.
• Deep understanding of child development.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
• Must pass background checks and health screenings.

Physical Requirements

Involves classroom activities, outdoor play, and minor lifting under 35 pounds.
