Job summary

Acacia Network is seeking a Teacher's Assistant in Bronx, NY, to support the Group Teacher in implementing the Infant/Toddler program. This role focuses on creating a safe, nurturing environment that fosters social and academic growth for children aged 0–5.

The position requires a HS diploma or AA in Early Childhood Education, prior experience with young children, and a commitment to ongoing training and health requirements.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or AA in Early Childhood Education required or emphasized.
• Experience working with children age 0–5.
• Fulfill full program responsibilities in the absence of the group teacher.
• Passion for infant mental health and child development.
• 30 hours of training prior to hire date and every two years thereafter.
• Annual physical with completed vaccinations including COVID-19.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Group Teacher in planning and executing the Infant/Toddler program.
• Provide supervision and nurturing environment for children.
• Report hazards and maintain safety of equipment and materials.
• Engage with parents and coordinate with staff to support learning.
