Job summary

Kansas City Public Schools’ Office of Early Learning is hiring a part-time Early Head Start Infant/Toddler Learning Assistant to support teachers at Central High School.

The role involves helping implement lesson plans, supervising infants and toddlers, and maintaining a safe, caring classroom aligned with Head Start and Conscious Discipline.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma; CDA credential or higher degree preferred. Schedule is five hours per day, five days a week, 10 months.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma and prior experience with children in learning environments.
• Ability to work with infants 6 weeks to 3 years old and understand their developmental needs.
• Successful background check and TB screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructors in planning and implementing lesson plans in the classroom.
• Promote children's social, emotional and physical development per Head Start and Conscious Discipline.
• Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for children and families.
• Attend required trainings and adhere to reporting and confidentiality policies.
