Job summary

Kansas City Public Schools is seeking a Head Start Part-Time Early Learning Assistant to support Pre-K instructional teams in the Office of Early Learning. The PAIS responsibilities include assisting with routines, maintaining records, and following safety and licensing regulations. Flexible shifts and a 10-month calendar may apply.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma.
• Ability to work with three- and four-year-olds and understand their developmental needs.
• Pass pre-employment, background checks, TB screen.
• Must have access to reliable transportation for travel to Pre-K locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pre-K instructional teams with classroom routines and developmentally appropriate activities.
• Monitor student arrivals/departures and maintain records.
• Follow district policies for reporting incidents and safeguarding children.
• Maintain staff-student ratios and supervise as needed.
• Support transitions, cleaning, safety, and data-driven lesson plans.
