Job summary

Children’s Friend is seeking an Infant/Toddler Teacher to nurture children from birth to age three and partner with families within the Head Start program.

You will implement developmentally appropriate curricula, document progress, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support growth. The role emphasizes inclusive practice and ongoing professional development, with a schedule that fits the program’s needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Infant/Toddler development preferred
• RIDE Certification preferred
• Experience with birth–3 years preferred
• Ability to communicate with families and teams
• Must meet DCYF licensing requirements and background checks

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, nurturing learning environment
• Implement curriculum aligned with Head Start standards
• Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
• Observe and document children’s progress
• Maintain accurate developmental records
• Partner with families through conferences and home visits
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary health, nutrition, mental health, and family support staff
• Support inclusive, diverse classroom relationships
• Work with Teacher Assistant to enrich learning
• Engage in professional development and mentoring of colleagues
