Job summary

Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) seeks an Infant/Toddler Instructional Assistant to support teaching staff in infant and toddler classrooms. You will assist with daily routines, supervision, and activities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children across Oregon.

The role includes helping with light classroom tasks, diapering, and language support as needed. Metro locations offer potential higher pay, with opportunities to grow as you meet Oregon ELD requirements.

Qualifications

  • No prior education or experience required.
  • Must meet Oregon Early Learning Division requirements within 4 months.
  • Meets requirements for an infant/toddler Teacher Aide II or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Supervise infants and toddlers in classrooms and on playgrounds using positive guidance techniques.
  • Assist with daily routines including diapering, toileting, dressing, mealtimes and transitions.
  • Maintain cleanliness of classrooms, toys, furniture and supplies; include light cleaning and laundry.
  • Provide classroom coverage to maintain child-to-teacher ratios during staff breaks or absences.
  • Support communication with children, families and staff in a respectful and positive manner.
  • Assist with dual language instruction, as applicable.
  • Help with basic record keeping and classroom documentation as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Every role contributes to creating stronger families, healthier communities, and brighter futures for children across Oregon.Position Summary:Assists teaching staff with various duties in the infant and/or toddler classrooms in accordance with grant standards, childcare licensing regulations, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), OCDC’s policies and procedures and other applicable standards. Helps to maintain a healthy and safe classroom environment.
