Job summary

Children’s Therapy Center in Kent, WA is seeking an experienced Developmental Specialist-Special Educator to join the ESIT team serving families with infants and toddlers. You will conduct screenings, evaluations, and assessments to inform eligibility, and collaborate with families to implement IFSPs in home, community, and telehealth settings.

The role emphasizes coaching parents, embracing cultural diversity, and ensuring compliance with IDEA Part B & C timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field or current WA teaching certificate.
• ESIT credential required as a condition of employment.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Experience with infants and toddlers with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to conduct family-centered screenings, evaluations and ongoing assessments.
• Educate parents and caregivers on child development across cultural and community differences.
• Provide caregivers with culturally relevant support in home, natural environment or telehealth.
• Coach parents to support culturally relevant routines that promote health and development.
• Collaborate with caregivers to develop/implement IFSP under ESIT program.
• Develop strong relationships with caregivers and community partners.
