Job summary

CLACKAMAS COUNTY CHILDRENS COMMISSION is seeking an Early Head Start Teacher to develop a safe, nurturing environment for infants and toddlers while promoting school readiness and family engagement. The role includes leading a full-day classroom, supervising staff, and aligning activities with Head Start standards.

You will collaborate with families to support each child’s development, maintain accurate assessments, and participate in program activities and trainings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in early childhood education with infant/toddler focus.
• Experience in an early childhood education classroom is preferred.
• Knowledge of Head Start standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and monitor full-day classroom for infants and toddlers ensuring continuous supervision.
• Supervise Assistant Teacher and Classroom Aide.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate daily activities that are developmentally appropriate.
• Maintain child observation notes for assessments and individualized planning.
• Enter observations into TS GOLD and ensure accurate documentation in ChildPlus.
• Collaborate with families and agency specialists to support children with disabilities.
