CLACKAMAS COUNTY CHILDRENS COMMISSION seeks a supportive classroom aide to assist the Head Start program. You will help the teacher with daily activities, assessments, and planning while maintaining a safe, developmentally appropriate classroom environment.

You will also support family engagement efforts, maintain classroom records, and participate in monthly parent meetings. Strong teamwork and dedication to working with diverse families and low-income children are essential.

Qualifications

• CDA or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in an early childhood education classroom, certified child care center, or comparable group care program.
• Ability to work effectively with low income and special needs children.
• Ability to interact positively with families from diverse cultural and socio‑economic backgrounds.
• Ability to use a positive approach in directing and redirecting child behavior.
• Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR certification.

Responsabilités

• Assist teacher with assessments and individualizations.
• Assist design and implementation of the daily lesson plan within the classroom.
• Set up and maintain a developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
• Maintain records relating to the classroom (observations, lesson notes, attendance).
• Follow Bus Safety Protocols and ensure a safe environment.
• Use PBIS approaches to direct and guide children.
• Greet children and escort them to the classroom.
• Prepare and gather materials for instructional purposes under teacher direction.
• Participate in parent Open House at start of each year and attend monthly meetings.
• Conduct developmental screenings as requested.
