Job summary

Center for Early Success in Virginia is seeking a Virginia Infant & Toddler Specialist to collaborate with early childhood educators, directors, and community partners to strengthen infant-toddler care and promote children’s development and well-being.

You will provide individualized coaching, training, and technical assistance across a regional service area, using data, CLASS®, and VQB5 tools to guide support and monitor progress, while maintaining accurate caseloads and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, human services, social work, or related field.
• Two years of experience with infants and toddlers; five years preferred.
• Knowledge of infant and toddler growth and development; developmentally appropriate practices.
• Experience in center-based or home-based early care settings.
• Strong communication, organization, planning, and time-management skills.
• Ability to coach, mentor, and train adult learners.
• Ability to build relationships with educators, families, and community partners.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Coach and support infant and toddler educators in center-based and home-based settings to strengthen interactions and classroom quality.
• Use CLASS®, curriculum, and VQB5 data to identify needs and develop coaching plans.
• Provide training on infant/toddler development, CLASS®, curriculum, and standards.
• Deliver individualized technical assistance to teachers and directors.
• Support curriculum implementation and connect programs with VDOE resources.
• Build partnerships with educators, families, Ready Regions, VDOE, and partners.
• Track and document services and maintain caseload records in VA ITSN.
