Job summary

CAAJLH in Jackson, MI seeks a Home Visitor for the Early Head Start program to provide developmental expertise for infants/toddlers and to engage families in the partnership process. You will conduct weekly home visits to support school readiness through strong parent–child bonding.

Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, you will recruit families, maintain records, and coordinate referrals to community partners to ensure full enrollment and program success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related human service field.
• Master’s degree in field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Know and function in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards and program guidelines.
• Follow all Agency policies including confidentiality and rights disclosures.
• Maintain a caseload with weekly home visits to support infant/toddler development and family bonding.
• Assess needs in families with infants at risk using Infant Mental Health strategies.
• Develop goal plans for school readiness and family advocacy.
• Establish trusting relationships with parents from diverse backgrounds.
• Maintain accurate records and referrals to community services.
• Participate in staff meetings and interagency collaboration.
• Complete family services components including partnership process and goal setting.
• Recruit and collaborate with community partners to enroll eligible children/families.
• Coordinate team meetings to support families across programs.
• Explain and review the Community Resource Directory and 211 resources to families.
• Record data entry and maintain confidentiality in family service data.
• Plan and implement parent trainings, workshops, and support groups.
• Organize twice-monthly socialization opportunities for enrolled children.
• Assist with transitions between program options.
