Job summary

Mid Michigan Community Action Agency seeks a dedicated professional to coordinate and implement the Early Head Start program, ensuring high-quality service delivery and strong family engagement. You will protect confidentiality, collaborate with teams, and drive improvements across all program areas.

You will conduct home visits, participate in planning and data analysis, and support family partnerships, with a focus on child development and adherence to Head Start standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year experience with young children and families.
  • Head Start/Early Head Start experience preferred.
  • 15 hours of annual training in addition to CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogen training.
  • Family Service Credential within 18 months of hire or first session thereafter.
  • Infant/toddler experiences preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated strength-based leadership.
  • Ability to present information to community groups.
  • Knowledge of Head Start performance standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director with coordinating and implementing Early Head Start program.
  • Ensure quality program service delivery.
  • Protect the privacy of customers/families and maintain confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with Home Base Team and Component Coordinators to meet goals and ensure compliance.
  • Collect, review, and analyze data for monitoring and assessment.
  • Provide weekly in-home visits with families for at least 1.5 hours each (up to 11 families).
  • Complete a minimum of 50 home visits annually.
  • Promote and support positive parent-child interactions in the home environment.
  • Implement home-based curriculum with fidelity.
  • Facilitate Family Partnership Agreements and goal assessments.
  • Complete PIR form at enrollment and end of enrollment.
  • Conduct ongoing child assessments and plan for individualization.
  • Engage families through in-home visits, socialization, and meetings.
  • Represent the Policy Council and recruit members.
  • Plan socialization experiences using family input and data.
  • Analyze data for daily planning and development.
  • Complete required program documentation timely.
  • Ensure safety and well-being of children and families.
  • Coordinate referrals for services as needed.
  • Collaborate with community partners to deliver quality services.
  • Maintain and input data into program databases.
  • Support Practice-Based Coaching and be a positive team player.
  • Attend community events, meetings, and training opportunities.
  • Address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Work with ECS Management Team to ensure compliance and improvement.
  • Recruit families and promote agency programs.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development.
  • All other duties as assigned.
