Education paths vary; no prior experience is required for entry. Metro locations offer higher pay. Regular attendance and collaboration with families are essential to program success.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching staff in providing a safe, healthy, and nurturing classroom environment.
• Supervise infants and toddlers in classrooms and on playgrounds using positive guidance techniques.
• Assist with daily routines, including diapering, toileting, dressing, mealtimes, and transitions.
• Help implement daily classroom activities such as free play, story time, and learning centers.
• Maintain cleanliness of classrooms, toys, furniture, and supplies, including light cleaning and laundry.
• Support communication with children, families, and staff in a respectful and positive manner.
• Assist with dual language instruction, as applicable.
• Help with basic record keeping and classroom documentation as assigned.
• Provide classroom coverage to maintain child-to-teacher ratios during staff breaks or absences.

Education

High School Diploma, GED, or Diploma de Educacion Secundaria

Infant-Toddler CDA certificate

1 year Oregon community college certificate with ECD focus
