Job summary

Children’s Friend is seeking an Infant/Toddler Teacher Assistant in Providence, RI, to support the Head Start program. This full-time role runs Monday–Friday with specific shifts, focusing on safety, development, and family engagement.

You will assist with curriculum delivery and documentation while ensuring DCYF licensing and Early Head Start standards are met. The position calls for a high school diploma, preferably a CDA, and experience with young children.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred.
• Experience working with infants, toddlers, or young children preferred.
• Fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
• Basic computer skills, including email and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with development and implementation of engaging curriculum.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment meeting licensing standards.
• Observe children and report health or developmental concerns.
• Document children’s development and communicate with families.
• Collaborate with staff to support each child’s individual needs.
• Participate in family/staff conferences and program meetings.
