Job summary

Children's Friend in Providence, RI is seeking an Infant/Toddler Teacher Assistant to support the classroom alongside the lead teacher and to help create a safe, developmentally appropriate environment for children from birth to age three. You will assist with curriculum delivery, evaluation, and family engagement while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The role is full-time, Monday–Friday (7:00am–3:30pm or 8:00am–4:30pm). A High School Diploma is required; CDA is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• CDA credential preferred.
• Experience with infants or toddlers is preferred.
• Ability to organize activities and provide developmentally appropriate experiences.
• Ability to build warm, responsive relationships with children and families.
• Basic computer skills, including email and data entry.
• Fluency in English (Spanish preferred).
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Must meet DCYF licensing and program standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher in developing and implementing engaging curriculum.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Observe and report health or developmental concerns.
• Document children’s development through progress notes and records.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary staff.
• Participate in family conferences and care coordination.
• Support home-based services and family engagement activities.
• Participate in agency meetings and professional development.
