Job summary

Catherine Hershey Schools for Early Learning in New Danville, PA, seeks an Infant/Toddler Assistant Teacher to support Lead and Associate Teachers, implement daily activities, and promote social and emotional learning.

You will help create a safe, nurturing classroom, assist with documentation and family communication, and contribute to a mission-driven program for children birth to age 5. This full-time role offers competitive hourly pay based on experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with the ability to obtain the CDA (Child Development Associate) Accreditation within two years of hire or CDA-equivalent credentials.
• CDA Accreditation from the Council of Professional Recognition preferred.
• Up to 1 year experience working with children birth to 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher and Associate Teacher with classroom lesson plans linked to child outcomes and schedules.
• Participate in classroom coaching cycles and engage with children to support development and learning.
• Maintain a safe and nurturing environment and assist with self-help and hygiene for children.
• Complete required program documentation and communicate with families through approved channels.
• Assist with daily attendance, meal participation reports, and licensing compliance.
