Job summary

Lasting Impressions Child Development Center in Clarksburg, WV is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher for our Infant/Toddler classroom. You will support the lead teacher to provide a safe, nurturing environment and engaging activities for young children.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily routines, maintaining logs, communicating with families, and following health and safety protocols. A High school diploma or GED is required, with ECE coursework preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; coursework in Early Childhood Education (ECE) preferred.
• Previous experience with infants and toddlers is a plus.
• Genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teacher in providing a safe, nurturing environment for infants and toddlers.
• Support daily routines including feeding, diapering, napping, and age-appropriate play activities.
• Engage children in developmentally appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and communicate updates to parents and guardians.
• Ensure classroom cleanliness and adherence to health and safety protocols.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members.
• Follow all licensing regulations and childcare center policies.
