Job summary

Commonpoint Queens is hiring a part-time Infant & Toddler Center Support Staff within the early childhood department. The role supports daily operations, program delivery, and licensing health and safety requirements, with flexibility to move between infant and toddler classrooms.

Responsibilities include assisting teachers with routines, supervising children, preparing and sanitizing materials, keeping areas clean, and communicating with families.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience caring for children 3–24 months old.
• CPR certified and trained preferred.
• Background check including fingerprinting and health examination.
• A passion for working with babies and toddlers.
• Patient, nurturing and thoughtful.
• Good communication skills.
• Maintain discretion around children's records.
• Must be able to bend to a child’s level and lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
• Must be able to spend extended periods sitting on the floor.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with daily routines and supervising children.
• Prepare and sanitize materials; maintain classroom cleanliness.
• Support transitions and meet licensing and safety requirements.
• Work with the teaching team and engage children through play and learning.
