Job summary

Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County, Inc. is seeking an Associate Teacher for the Artesi III Center in French Camp, California.

You will provide care and education for children aged 0-5 while collaborating with the Center Supervisor and teachers to plan developmentally appropriate activities. The role requires 12 ECE units or a CDA credential with an Associate Teacher Permit, plus 6 months of related experience.

Qualifications

• Requires 12 ECE/CD units with a grade C or better, or CDA credential or CTC.
• Requires 6 months related experience with children ages 0-5.
• Must have an Associate Teacher Permit or higher.
• If HS/EHS/MSHS/State-Braided Associate Teachers must meet at least one of: CDA credential, CDA program enrollment, or degree (associates/bachelor's).

Responsibilities

• Provide care and education for children ages 0-5, with engaging learning experiences.
• Collaborate with the Center Supervisor and Teachers to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
• Assume responsibilities in the Teacher's absence, guiding instructional assistants, parents, and volunteers.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for all children.
• Assist in planning educational activities promoting child development.
• Participate in physical activities with children (games, music, outdoor play).
• Assist with bus supervision and safety during transportation.
• Complete pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR training within 30 days of hire.
• Complete 16 hours of training on preventative health practices and nutrition within 30 days of hire.

We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our Early Childhood Education team as Associate Teacher. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the growth and development of children while supporting our mission to provide high-quality education and care.

What you bring to the table:

• Has 12 semester units ECE/CD, with a grade C or better, or CDA Credential or CTC.
• Has 6 months related experience with children ages 0-5 years of age.
• Has an Associate Teacher Permit or higher.
• HS/EHS/MSHS/State-Braided Associate Teachers must also meet at least one of the following criteria:
  • Have a child development associate (CDA) credential or the California equivalent of a Child Development Associate Teacher Permit at time of hire (12 ECE semester units including core courses; and for EHS and infant/toddler classrooms must also have 6 infant/toddler semester units)
  • Be enrolled in a CDA credential program that will be completed within 2 years;
  • Have an associate or bachelor's degree (in any area) or be enrolled in a program leading to such a degree.
• Depending on the department assigned, a valid California driver’s license, a current DMV driving record, and proof of insurance may be required to fulfill job-related travel. Reasonable accommodations will be considered in accordance with applicable laws.

As an Associate Teacher you will:
