Job summary

The Goddard School of Baltimore (Locust Point), MD is seeking a motivated Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher with engaging programs for children ages 18-24 months. You will help manage the classroom and ensure a safe, stimulating environment while bringing energy, enthusiasm and creativity to a collaborative team.

Requires a high school diploma (associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred) and prior experience with young children in licensed settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Previous experience with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with handling children.
• Must pass required state background checks and meet state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions.
• Prepare classroom materials and maintain a safe, clean, inviting learning environment.
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging.
• Communicate with families about their child’s progress and daily activities.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations.
