Job summary

The Goddard School of Bel Air is seeking a passionate Lead Teacher to join our Bel Air, MD team. You will lead daily activities and implement our Wonder of Learning curriculum to support each child’s growth in a nurturing setting.

Collaborate with a supportive team, communicate regularly with families, and uphold health and safety standards while engaging in ongoing professional development and CDA-related tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• CDA preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience with young children in licensed childcare/preschool setting preferred.
• Must have state-required pre-service training.
• Develops relationships and communicates effectively with children, families and faculty.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willing to revisit qualifications for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities using the Wonder of Learning curriculum.
• Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Maintain open, effective communication with families about child progress and activities.
• Supervise children to uphold health and safety standards and licensing regulations.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
• Observe, assess and document children’s learning to inform activities and share insights with families.
• Foster collaboration with Assistant and Resource Teachers.
• Model and apply positive behavior guidance strategies.
