Job summary

The Learning Experience of Winchester in Winchester, Virginia is seeking caring, dependable Infant Teachers to join our team. We offer a supportive environment with a focus on development and safety, and opportunities to work with families and peers. Two positions are available.

Ideal candidates bring experience with infants, knowledge of best care practices, and a commitment to our LEAP curriculum. Join us to help children learn, play, and grow in a nurturing setting.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 6 months of childcare experience.
  • 1 year infant/early childhood experience preferred.
  • Virginia childcare licensing requirements must be met; background checks required.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred or obtained as required.
  • CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide loving, responsive, and individualized care to infants.
  • Maintain active supervision at all times.
  • Follow each infant’s feeding, sleeping, diapering, and care schedule.
  • Properly prepare and handle bottles, meals, and infant feeding routines.
  • Complete diaper changes regularly and document all required information.
  • Follow safe sleep practices and all infant health and safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized, organized, and safe infant classroom.
  • Implement The Learning Experience’s L.E.A.P.® curriculum through age‑appropriate activities.
  • Provide tummy time, sensory experiences, music, movement, language development, and hands‑on learning opportunities.
  • Support infants’ physical, cognitive, social‑emotional, and communication development.
  • Observe and document developmental progress.
  • Communicate professionally and positively with families about feeding, diapering, sleep, activities, and developmental progress.
  • Build trusting relationships with infants and their families.
  • Work cooperatively with co‑teachers and school leadership.
  • Follow all TLE policies, Virginia licensing standards, health and safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, professional development, and school events.
