Job summary

The Learning Experience of Winchester is seeking caring, dependable, and experienced Infant Teachers to join our team. We offer a nurturing environment where babies receive individualized care and development-focused activities in a safe, clean classroom.

Join our staff in Winchester, VA, and help infants grow through the LEAP curriculum while maintaining daily routines, documenting progress, and communicating with families and co‑teachers in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Have at least 6 months of childcare experience.
  • 1 year of infant or early childhood experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in an infant classroom is strongly preferred.
  • Meet all applicable Virginia childcare licensing requirements.
  • Successfully complete required background checks.
  • Complete required health, safety, and professional-development training.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred or must be obtained as required.
  • CDA or coursework in Early Childhood Education is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide loving, responsive, and individualized care to infants.
  • Maintain active supervision at all times.
  • Follow each infant’s feeding, sleeping, diapering, and care schedule.
  • Properly prepare and handle bottles, meals, and infant feeding routines.
  • Complete diaper changes regularly and document all required information.
  • Follow safe sleep practices and all infant health and safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized, organized, and safe infant classroom.
  • Implement The Learning Experience’s L.E.A.P.® curriculum through age‑appropriate activities.
  • Provide tummy time, sensory experiences, music, movement, language development, and hands‑on learning opportunities.
  • Support infants’ physical, cognitive, social‑emotional, and communication development.
  • Observe and document developmental progress.
  • Communicate professionally and positively with families about feeding, diapering, sleep, activities, and developmental progress.
  • Build trusting relationships with infants and their families.
  • Work cooperatively with co‑teachers and school leadership.
  • Follow all TLE policies, Virginia licensing standards, health and safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, professional development, and school events.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
CPR and First Aid certification (preferred)
Virginia childcare licensing requirements knowledge (required)
CDA or ECE coursework preferred
