Bright Minds Academy in Topeka, KS is seeking an Infant Lead Teacher to provide nurturing, responsive care that supports healthy development for our youngest learners. You will create a safe, sensory-rich environment and supervise assistants, while maintaining open communication with families about daily activities and milestones.

Qualifications

  • Must meet KOEC and NECPA requirements for infant care.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience working with infants in licensed childcare.
  • Strong understanding of infant development, attachment, and responsive caregiving.
  • Excellent communication skills with parents.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (Infant & Child).
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs and bend/kneel frequently.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nurturing, responsive care prioritizing attachment and emotional security for infants.
  • Observe each child and tailor care to their needs, temperament, and development.
  • Implement age-appropriate activities emphasizing sensory exploration, motor skills, and early communication.
  • Manage feeding, diaper changes, and sleep routines with consistency.
  • Create a safe, clean, sensory-rich environment for non-mobile and emerging infants.
  • Maintain clear communication with parents about daily activities and milestones.
  • Prepare daily reports for each infant with photos/videos of development moments.
  • Supervise and guide assistant teachers to ensure consistent care protocols.
  • Monitor health and safety, including feeding logs and sleep schedules.
