Job summary

Vision House is seeking a Lead Teacher for our Shoreline, WA childcare center. The role focuses on nurturing, Christ-centered development in infants, guiding curriculum and daily activities while maintaining active communication with families and staff.

The Lead Teacher will implement developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive curricula, monitor progress, and collaborate with the director and others to ensure safe, engaging learning environments that align with state regulations and

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years in a childcare setting
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Have or acquire an ECE Initial Certificate or equivalent
  • Progress toward an ECE Short Certificate within 2 years
  • Experience in curriculum development and implementation including language development, music, art
  • Experience in managing classroom behavior and positive discipline
  • Food Handler's Permit
  • First Aid/CPR certification before start
  • TB test and MMR vaccine before start
  • 30 hours of STARS training and MERIT registration before start
  • Proficiency with early childhood education software to track attendance and communicate with parents

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate positive relationships with children and create a warm, supportive classroom
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive curricula
  • Develop daily lesson plans to meet developmental needs
  • Assess children's progress and refer to Director as needed
  • Organize classroom supplies and equipment
  • Coordinate with the Director to assign tasks fairly
  • Maintain daily communication with parents about progress
  • Explain center policies to staff and parents
  • Collaborate to implement routines and schedules
  • Maintain health and safety standards per licensing
  • Lead activities during emergency drills and ensure safety
  • Stay informed on best practices in Early Childhood Education
  • Maintain attendance and developmental records
  • Provide feedback to Director on staff and curriculum
  • Perform other duties to support operations
