Job summary

The Learning Experience in Upper West Side, NY is seeking a nurturing Infant Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. You will lead daily routines in an infant classroom, provide responsive care, and support babies’ developmental milestones in a warm, secure setting.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, has infant classroom experience, demonstrates strong communication and teamwork, and can build trusting relationships with families.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education required.
• Previous infant/early childhood classroom experience preferred.
• Lead Teacher or classroom leadership experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of infant development and responsive caregiving.
• Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, nurturing, dependable, and team-oriented.
• Must meet applicable New York City childcare requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily routines and learning experiences in an Infant classroom.
• Provide responsive, individualized care based on each infant's needs and schedule.
• Support feeding, diapering, sleep, tummy time, and other daily care routines.
• Create age-appropriate sensory, movement, language, music, and early learning experiences.
• Support cognitive, physical, language, and social-emotional development.
• Observe developmental progress and maintain required classroom documentation.
• Maintain consistent communication and build trusting relationships with families.
• Guide and collaborate with Assistant Teachers and classroom support staff.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and nurturing classroom.
• Follow applicable New York City childcare health, safety, and licensing requirements.
