Qualifications

The Lead Teacher is responsible for following the provided curriculum, delivering, and overseeing classroom instruction while fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for students with disabilities. This role requires strong leadership, adaptability, and a passion for supporting diverse learning needs.Key Responsibilities:Implement provided lesson plans that align with individualized student needs and curriculum standards.Provide differentiated instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.Lead classroom management efforts, ensuring a structured and positive learning environment.Collaborate with assistant teachers, support staff, and therapists to facilitate student success.Assess student progress and provide feedback to families and school leadership.Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams.Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, assessments, and behavioral observations.Advocate for student needs and ensure compliance with educational and disability-related policies.Participate in professional development to continuously enhance instructional methods.Education: Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field.Experience: Prior teaching experience, particularly in an inclusive or special education setting.Skills: Strong leadership, instructional expertise, adaptability, and a commitment to student growth.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs to assist students with mobility and classroom needs.Ability to sit, stand, walk, and actively engage with students throughout the day.
