The UB Child Care Center is seeking a dedicated Infant Teacher to develop a nurturing and educational environment. Preferred candidates will have an education in Early Childhood Education and experience in childcare settings. UNIVERSITY OF BUFFALO CHILD CARE CENTER, South Campus is looking for an Infant Teacher to join our team. Our teachers are the heart of our center, and we are looking for a personable and energetic individual to help us achieve our vision. Our teachers are expected to be reliable, responsible, and able to create and maintain a healthy classroom environment.
Responsibilities
The Lead Teacher, with the assistance of support staff, shall develop a developmentally appropriate curriculum for their assigned classroom and work together with the Director and other staff members to foster an atmosphere of goodwill, open communication, and teamwork. The Lead Teacher is responsible for all other duties as assigned by Director or another in-charge person.
The Lead Teacher is responsible for knowing and following current UBCCC policies and procedures, OCFS regulations, and all accreditation standards.
The primary responsibility of the Lead Teacher is the safety and well-being of the children. The Lead Teacher therefore must report to the supervisor and / or Director any action or behavior by any person which might be detrimental to a child or group of children within the Center.
Educational Requirements
Minimum : An Associates degree in Early Childhood Education, or directly related field, or a current CDA (Child Development Associate); or a formal written education plan.
Preferred : A Bachelors degree including 12 credits in early childhood education or a Bachelors degree plus 12 credits in early childhood education; or an Associates degree in early childhood education or directly related fields and four years of teaching experience in a child care center or related educational program for young children.
Physical requirements :
Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, sit on the floor and rise from the floor without adult assistance.
