Job summary

Wonderspring Early Education seeks an Infant Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in the infant classroom at the New Market West Center. You will help implement daily plans and foster a nurturing, relationship-based learning space for babies and toddlers.

Responsibilities include supervising children, assisting with routines, and documenting progress. The role emphasizes collaboration, confidentiality, and adherence to safety standards to promote healthy child development.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience with children.
• Strong teamwork and flexibility.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Basic knowledge of childcare rules.
• Must obtain required clearances and complete a TB health assessment prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom routines.

• Assume the Lead Teacher's responsibilities in their absence.
• Assist with tasks associated with the daily schedule.
• Teach positive behavior strategies and provide guidance such as FLIP IT and Second Step.

Job Title: Infant Assistant Teacher

Location: Wonderspring – New Market West Center

Pay: $15.00 -18.04 per hour

About The Position

Wonderspring, a nonprofit early childhood education organization, is seeking a dedicated team member to support our Lead Teacher at our New Market West Center in the Infant Classroom.

About The Role

This role provides support to a Lead Teacher in an Infant Classroom. You will work together to create a nurturing, relationship-based classroom environment.

• Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans, learning activities, and classroom routines
• Supervise children in your care
• Assume the lead teacher's classroom responsibilities in their absence.
• Assist with all tasks associated with the daily schedule
• Teach children how to use acceptable alternatives to challenging behavior to reduce conflict by using provide guidance approaches such as FLIP IT and Second Step.
• Observe, document, and celebrate each child’s progress, sharing their victories (big and small) with proud parents

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• 2+ years of experience working with children, infants and toddlers preferred
• Strong teamwork and flexibility
• Ability to keep information private
• Basic knowledge of childcare rules
• Must obtain all required clearances and complete a Health Assessment with TB screening prior to employment
