Job summary

Nourish Early Learning is seeking a calm, heart-forward assistant to support the lead educator in caring for our youngest infants. The role is rooted in a child-centered, play-based environment where you help balance daily activities and aid in lesson execution.

Requirements include experience in child care or preschool teaching, knowledge of child development, strong communication, and CPR/first aid certification. FBI & BCII checks are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in child care or preschool teaching.
• Knowledge of child development and current education methods.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• First aid and CPR certification.
• Studies in early childhood education preferred.
• FBI and BCII background checks completed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Assist in planning and implementing field trips.
• Supervise behavior and safety of children during school hours, maintaining ratios.
• Provide basic physical, emotional and spiritual caregiving activities.
• Adhere to teaching standards and safety regulations (ODJFS guidance).
• Maintain a safe, clean environment for children to thrive.

About the Position

Nourish Early Learning is looking for a calm, heart-forward, loving assistant to spend their days with our youngest infants. Nourish is a child-centered, play-based environment and an infant assistant educator would support the lead educator to balance the flow of the day. Infants are unique in their learning capabilities, fusing together fine and gross motor skills, sensory learning as well as building the foundation for communication.

A wonderful fit for this position would:

Responsibilities

Assistants Educators are responsible for (but not limited to):

• Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing a curriculum that is developmentally appropriate and meets the state standards and the stated philosophy of Nourish Early Learning
• Assist the teacher in planning and implementing appropriate field trips
• Responsibly supervise behavior and safety of the school’s children during school hours maintaining ratios and ensuring no child is left unattended
• Providing basic physical, emotional and spiritual care and caregiving activities
• Adhering with teaching standards and safety regulations as established by the official sources-i.e. ODJFS
• Maintaining a safe and clean environment for children to thrive

Requirements

The requirements for this position include:

• Proven experience as a child care / preschool teacher, a plus
• Knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methods
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Certificate in first aid and CPR
• Studies in early childhood education, a plus
• FBI & BCII background checks complete
