Job summary

Nourish Early Learning is seeking a calm, heart-forward infant assistant educator to support the lead teacher in a child-centered, play-based program, helping balance daily activities and nurture early development. The ideal candidate loves children, communicates well, stays flexible, and is eager to learn.

You will assist with lesson plans, safety, and parent engagement within a warm, collaborative classroom.

Qualifications

• Experience in child care or preschool teaching is preferred.
• Knowledge of child development and up-to-date educational methods.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Certificate in first aid and CPR is required.
• Studies in early childhood education are a plus.
• Background checks (FBI & BCII) completed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Assist the teacher in planning and implementing appropriate field trips.
• Supervise behavior and safety while maintaining ratios.
• Provide basic physical, emotional and spiritual care as needed.
• Adhere to teaching standards and safety regulations (e.g., ODJFS).
• Maintain a safe, clean environment for children to thrive.

About the Position

Nourish Early Learning is looking for a calm, heart-forward, loving assistant to spend their days with our youngest infants. Nourish is a child-centered, play-based environment and an infant assistant educator would support the lead educator to balance the flow of the day. Infants are unique in their learning capabilities, fusing together fine and gross motor skills, sensory learning as well as building the foundation for communication.

A wonderful fit for this position would:

• connect with young children quickly through a wide range of methods (stories, media, indoor or outdoor games, drawing, etc)

• want to connect with parents in the community and want to encourage their involvement in the classroom

Responsibilities

Assistants Educators are responsible for (but not limited to):

• Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing a curriculum that is developmentally appropriate and meets the state standards and the stated philosophy of Nourish Early Learning
• Assist the teacher in planning and implementing appropriate field trips
• Responsibly supervise behavior and safety of the school's children during school hours maintaining ratios and ensuring no child is left unattended
• Providing basic physical, emotional and spiritual care and caregiving activities
• Adhering with teaching standards and safety regulations as established by the official sources-i.e. ODJFS
• Maintaining a safe and clean environment for children to thrive

Requirements

The requirements for this position include:

• Proven experience as a child care / preschool teacher, a plus
• Knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methods
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Certificate in first aid and CPR
• Studies in early childhood education, a plus
• FBI & BCII background checks complete
