Purpose of the Role
The Assistant Educator at N Family School supports the delivery of inspirational care and education for the children within the school. Working closely with Lead Educators and the wider school team, this role helps create a warm, engaging learning environment that promotes exceptional early learning, high standards of care, and meaningful family partnerships.
This is a hands-on role for individuals who are passionate about early childhood education, attentive to the needs of young children, and eager to grow within a fast-paced, high-quality school environment.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Classroom Support & Learning
- Support the delivery of N Family's learning through play approach and the N Curriculum
- Follow the classroom's pattern of the day, supporting smooth routines and transitions
- Assist with planning and delivering engaging learning experiences that support children's development
- Contribute to high-quality observations, assessments, and planning
- Support children during transitions, including mealtimes, nap times, and outdoor play
- Supervise mealtimes in line with food safety, allergy, and supervision policies
Care, Safety & Wellbeing
- Maintain high standards of care, supervision, and responsiveness at all times
- Complete daily health and safety tasks and follow up on any concerns
- Promote and model safeguarding practices and child welfare responsibilities
- Implement behavioral safety strategies and support a calm, respectful classroom culture
- Always follow Health & Safety policies, safeguarding procedures, and state licensing requirements
Family & Team Collaboration
- Build warm, professional relationships with families
- Communicate respectfully and effectively with children, families, and team members
- Work collaboratively with Lead Educators and the wider school team
- Support school operations with ad hoc tasks as needed to ensure smooth daily functioning

Experience
- A genuine passion for working with young children

- Must meet all applicable state early childhood licensing requirements
- Successful completion of all required background checks and clearances, including fingerprinting and child abuse registry checks, as required by state licensing
- Must meet all state health screening and immunization requirements, including tuberculosis screening, as required by licensing authorities
- Pediatric First Aid and Pediatric CPR certification to be completed during onboarding and maintained per licensing requirements
- Safeguarding and mandated reporter training to be completed during onboarding and refreshed regularly
- Coursework in Early Childhood Education is a plus and may be required for advancement
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities. However, the Assistant Educator is expected to:
Supervision and Leadership Duties
- Support and follow the guidance of the Lead Educator and School Managers
- Assist in supervising children in line with state licensing ratios
- Take temporary responsibility for a group of children during brief absences, where permitted by licensing regulations
This role requires regular standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and active engagement with children throughout the day. The Assistant Educator works in classrooms, shared spaces, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to noise, bodily fluids, cleaning products, and varying weather conditions.
