Job summary

Shepherd's Care in Maple Grove, MN is seeking a Care Assistant to support teachers in creating a warm, nurturing learning environment that respects each child's physical, mental, spiritual, social, and emotional needs.

You will follow the center's policies, work under the supervision of the Teacher and Assistant Teacher, engage with children and families in English, assist with daily lesson plans, supervise during activities, and help with classroom housekeeping to keep spaces safe and welcoming.

Job description

Shepherd's Care is a Christian childcare center located in Maple Grove. The Care Assistant assists teachers in creating a warm and nurturing environment that meets children’s physical, mental, spiritual, social, and emotional needs. The role is performed in accordance with the center’s policies and procedures and is carried out under the direct supervision of the Teacher and Assistant Teacher. The candidate must be pleasant, respectful, and courteous toward children, families, visitors, and staff at all times.

Requirements

• CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.
• Physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift at least 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors.
• Capable of getting up and down off the floor, seeing and hearing well enough to keep children safe, and engaging in activity with children.
• Can communicate with children and their parents in English.
• Meets Minnesota DHS qualifications for the position and passes the required DHS background check.
