Job summary

Chip Ganassi Racing in Indianapolis seeks a NXT Race Engineer to provide technical leadership for race operations, optimizing car performance through data analysis, car spec development, and collaboration with drivers, engineers and mechanics.

You will develop specs, analyze telemetry, and lead development programs while maintaining sponsor interactions and a race-ready work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in IndyCar, IMSA, Formula SAE, or team engineering internship.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design, aerodynamics, and vehicle electronics.
• Proficient data analysis and telemetry tools.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with race car components and structural systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with drivers, engineers, and mechanics during races and tests.
• Develop and evolve race car specifications to achieve optimal performance.
• Analyze telemetry and performance data to inform setup and strategy.
• Lead and contribute to race car development programs.
• Create analytical tools and simulation models to enhance vehicle performance.
• Maintain professionalism in sponsor and fan interactions.
• Ensure the work area and equipment are race-ready.
• Support other engineering projects as required.
