Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering required; master's preferred.
• Motorsports engineering background with trackside exposure.
• Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in Race Engineering or related field.
• Strong data acquisition, data analysis, and statistical skills.
• Experience with MATLAB and CAD software is required.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Directly contributes to IndyCar overall car performance at races and test events.
• Assist the Race Engineer in set-up and final build including mechanical, aerodynamic and gearing changes.
• Review data, videos, and timing reports to help find areas of improvement for drivers in real-time.
• Development and maintenance of software and math for performance optimization.
• Participate in weekly engineering meetings, race weekend debriefs, and test debriefs to define development opportunities.
• Participate and help drive vehicle simulation programs; offline simulations and Driver-in-the-loop sessions.
