Job summary

Tate Inc. is seeking a Welder for our Richmond, VA area fabrication team. You will perform measurements, cutting, and assembly of metal products, ensuring conformance to specifications and safety standards.

The role requires reading blueprints, preparing surfaces, validating gas ratios, and testing weld strength, with shift options including first, second, and night/weekend schedules. AWS certification is preferred, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• AWS Certification preferred.
• 2+ years’ experience in structural welding.
• Must have basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Selects, measures, cuts, and joins metals to specifications.
• Prepares metals and surfaces to ensure safe and effective assemblage.
• Interprets specifications and blueprints accurately.
• Regularly cleans and inspects welding equipment and tools.
• Determines correct gas ratios and tests weld strength.
