Job summary
Sandalwood Engineering & Ergonomics is seeking a Hardware Engineer to own the hardware foundation of our Sight.IQ vision platform. You will specify, test, certify, and deploy camera, edge computing, and network hardware across manufacturing facilities worldwide, collaborating with vision engineers, software teams, controls, and IT.
You will drive hardware decisions from concept to deployment, manage BOMs, lifecycle planning, and compliance activities including UL/cUL certification, with on-site
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in industrial machine vision hardware.
- Experience with industrial cameras, imaging systems, and edge devices.
- Strong understanding of Ethernet, GigE Vision, switches, jumbo frames.
- Familiarity with UL/cUL certification processes.
- Ability to provide full-time onsite services in Detroit, MI.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end camera and vision system hardware specifications for inspection stations.
- Specify and validate industrial PCs and edge hardware for vision processing.
- Lead validation testing and certification procedures for new hardware deployments.
- Coordinate UL/cUL certification and safety/compliance activities.
- Plan lifecycle management and fleet support for deployed hardware.
