Job summary

General Mills Geneva, IL plant is seeking an Industrial Utilities Technician on 12-hour rotating shifts. You will operate, maintain and troubleshoot ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, steam and air systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and related utilities to support safe, continuous production.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 1 year of experience with ammonia refrigeration and boilers; EPA/PSM compliance knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• 1 year experience with industrial ammonia refrigeration system.
• 1 year experience with boilers and low-pressure steam.
• Experience with Mechanical Utilities Systems (Compressed Air, Vacuum, Hydraulics).
• Experience with process water distribution; wastewater handling and treatment.
• Knowledge of EPA permits/compliance and/or PSM/ARM program compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, steam and air systems, and related utilities.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and repair equipment to ensure plant efficiency.
• Conduct daily rounds of the ammonia system and provide technical support to operations.
• Participate in Process Safety Management (PSM) and root cause analysis.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and training of new employees.
