Job summary

Caviness Beef Packers in Texas seeks a Refrigeration/Boiler Technician to ensure proper operation and maintenance of refrigeration systems, boilers, and related utility equipment. You will participate in daily rounds, maintain logs, and contribute to the plant's PSM program while adhering to safety protocols.

The role requires physical capability to lift 70 lbs, work in extreme temperatures, and perform on-the-job training with a rotating day/night schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems preferred.
• Mechanical background is desirable.
• Ability to read and write logs in English.
• Stable work history and reliability during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Daily operations and maintenance of all utility systems including boilers and ammonia refrigeration.
• Perform daily rounds on utility and refrigeration systems and report deviations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the department.
• Assist higher level operators and complete preventive maintenance work orders.
• Comply with PSM program requirements and safety protocols.
• Learn additional skills from on-the-job training and adapt to rotating shifts.
• Ability to lift 70 lbs and work in hot or cold conditions, under pressure.

Job description

We have a great career opportunity in our Utilities/Refrigeration Dept., for an Refrigeration/Boiler Technician.

This position ensures the proper operation and maintenance of the refrigeration systems which include but are not limited to preventive maintenance, inspections, daily log upkeep and participation with PSM program and training.

While maintaining all safety protocol and ability to successfully complete refrigeration training at designated time period.

Duties And Responsibilities Will Include But Not Limited To

• Daily operations and maintenance all utility systems including high pressure boilers, air compressors, water feed systems, chemical controls and Ammonia refrigeration systems
• Perform daily rounds on utility and refrigeration systems report any deviations
• Maintain all areas in the dept., clean and organized
• Assist higher level operators in all aspects pertaining to the dept.
• Complete preventive maintenance work orders in an effective and efficient manner
• Comply with PSM program requirements
• Must be able to follow all safety protocol
• Ability to learn additional skills from on the job training
• Ability to lift 70 lbs and work in extremely hot or cold conditions
• Ability to work under pressure

Qualifications

• Prior industrial experience with Ammonia Refrigeration Steam Boilers preferred
• Mechanical background preferred
• Must be able to work rotating shift (days/nights) - weekends & holidays
• Must be able to read/write in English to complete logs on regulatory and operational records
• Ability to attend training and pass courses as required
• Stable work history required
