Job summary

Equipment Depot in Lexington, KY is seeking a skilled service technician to repair and maintain electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks and related equipment in our shop. You will diagnose, repair, and test units, ensure safety compliance, and help drive on-time return to service.

The role requires precise documentation, effective communication with customers, and collaboration with the service team to meet daily targets. A strong focus on quality and safety is essential.

Responsibilities

• Accepts assigned work orders from Dispatcher to diagnose and plan required repairs.
• Performs mechanical repairs after inspection and approval by the Service Manager / Shop Lead.
• Writes complete repair descriptions with correct model, serial number, and hour meter readings.
• Inspects guards, loose bolts and safety devices; makes necessary adjustments.
• Lubricates moving parts and verifies repairs by test driving to confirm specifications.
• Turns in all paperwork daily (work orders, time cards, etc.) to Dispatcher/Planner.
• Provides reporting data on work in progress totals to the Service Manager.
• Opens, reviews, and validates all information on work orders through billing.
• Creates and organizes all shop paperwork and folders.
• Communicates with customers on status of shop jobs during repairs.
• Confirms scheduled maintenance has been performed on units in the shop.
• Creates and communicates field service quotes when necessary.
• Answers and responds to incoming customer service calls.
• Final sign-off on shop work orders prior to invoicing.
• Performs other duties assigned by management
