Job summary

Socket.dev in Dallas / Fort Worth, TX is hiring a skilled technician to repair and maintain electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks and batteries, plus construction and aerial equipment. You will diagnose issues from work orders and perform repairs to restore units to service.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or equivalent and about 1 year of related mechanical experience, with the ability to read safety rules, write reports, and communicate clearly.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Mathematical ability including rate, ratio, and percent calculations.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Accepts assigned work orders to diagnose and plan repairs.
• Perform mechanical repairs after inspection and approval.
• Document repair descriptions with model numbers and hours.
• Inspect safety guards, bolts and devices and adjust as needed.
• Lubricate parts and test repaired units before return to service.
• Submit paperwork and time cards daily for tracking.
• Provide data on work in progress to the Service Manager.
• Manage shop workflow and communicate quotes for repairs.
• Guide technicians and review work for quality and safety.
