Job summary

You will handle work orders, perform inspections, ensure safety, prepare quotes, and communicate with customers. Ideal candidates have a HS diploma and mechanical experience; proficient with MS Office; valid driver's license; teamwork spirit.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; 1 year of related mechanical experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Math ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret numbers.
• Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
• Computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and Internet software.

Responsibilities

• Accepts assigned work orders to begin diagnosing and planning repairs.
• Performs mechanical repairs after inspection and approval.
• Writes complete repair descriptions with model, serial, and hour readings.
• Inspects safety devices and tightens/adjusts as needed.
• Lubricates parts and verifies repaired unit meets specs.
• Submits paperwork daily (work orders, time cards).
• Provides reporting data on work in progress to the Service Manager.
• Manages shop workflow including trucking and rentals.
• Creates and communicates quotes for shop work.
• Guides technicians to assist in repairs when necessary.
• Reviews and validates all information on work orders through completion.
• Organizes shop paperwork and folders.
• Communicates with customers on job status via calls.
• Ensures maintenance has been performed on all units.
• Creates and communicates field service quotes when needed.
• Answer and respond to customer service calls.
• Final sign-off on shop work orders before invoicing.
• Performs other duties assigned by management.
