Job summary

BBA Consultants seeks an Intermediate Civil/Structural Engineer to join our U.S. team. You will lead civil/structural design for heavy industrial projects across mining, energy, renewable power, and chemical sectors.

You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and ensure adherence to North American codes. Travel to client sites may be required as projects advance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with structural focus or Structural Engineering specialization
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure in the applicable U.S. jurisdiction within a reasonable timeframe
• 15+ years of relevant experience in civil and structural engineering
• Experience in industrial, mining, energy, infrastructure, or related sectors
• Demonstrated experience delivering multidisciplinary engineering projects
• Strong understanding of North American civil and structural design codes and engineering standards
• Experience coordinating project scope, schedules, budgets, and engineering deliverables
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and coordination skills
• Availability for occasional travel to client and project sites

Responsibilities

• Lead the civil and structural design of heavy industrial projects from feasibility through detailed engineering and construction support
• Perform engineering analysis and design for civil and structural systems per U.S. codes and standards
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, reports, specifications, and construction packages
• Coordinate activities with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, geotechnical, environmental and project management
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, designers, and drafters
• Support quality assurance and conduct technical reviews of deliverables
• Manage project tasks, schedules, budgets and technical deliverables
• Interface with clients to clarify requirements and present engineering solutions
• Support construction through field reviews, site visits, and contractor coordination
• Contribute to continuous improvement and engineering best practices
• Support business development through proposal input and client relationship development
