Job summary

BBA Consultants is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to join our U.S. team. You will work with experienced engineers on mining, industrial, energy, renewable power, and chemical projects from concept through construction support.

Key duties include designing civil and structural elements, preparing calculations and reports, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, and supporting site visits and project planning. A strong engineering background and travel willingness are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus or Structural Engineering.
• EIT designation or eligibility for registration in the applicable U.S. jurisdiction.
• 6+ years of relevant experience in civil and/or structural engineering.
• Experience in industrial, mining, infrastructure, energy, or related sectors is an asset.
• Familiarity with North American structural design codes and standards.
• Proficient with AutoCAD / Revit and structural analysis software (SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, STAAD).
• Knowledge of Mathcad or equivalent engineering calculation tools.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; willing to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Support civil and structural design from preliminary studies through detailed engineering.
• Prepare calculations, technical reports, design memoranda, and construction documentation.
• Assist with designing civil infrastructure systems including site development, drainage, utilities, and access.
• Support structural design of concrete foundations, steel and reinforced concrete structures, equipment supports, pipe racks, platforms and building components.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, process, geotechnical and environmental disciplines.
• Review and coordinate deliverables and participate in project planning, scheduling, and cost estimating.
• Support construction activities through site visits and technical queries; participate in client meetings and discussions.
