Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Discrete Manufacturing Engineering Group seeks a qualified Structural Engineer for industrial design, gravity and lateral loading, and construction documentation. This hybrid role requires 2+ days weekly at the Atlanta or Green Bay headquarters.

Ideal candidates have a Civil Engineering degree with a structural focus, 10+ years in structural engineering, PE license, and proficiency in RAM/AutoCAD/REVIT. Travel up to 40% and collaboration with project teams are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Civil Engineering with a Structural focus.
• 10+ years of structural engineering experience.
• Proven structural engineering experience.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Deep knowledge of construction materials and methods.
• Experience with RAM Structural Systems, RAM Elements, RAM Connections, Enercalc, AutoCAD, and REVIT.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or Structural Engineer.
• Willing to travel up to 40% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, coordinate, and monitor the assigned engineering projects.
• Ensure compliance with codes, rules, industry practices and GP standards.
• Conduct on-site investigations, assessments, and field measurements.
• Develop engineering calculations to support the design and work with modelers and drafters.
• Collaborate daily with project managers and other project participants.
• Construction administration.
• Provide SME reviews.
• Assign responsibilities and mentor the project team.
