Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services seeks a Soft Craft Foreman to supervise scaffolding, insulation, painting/coatings, fireproofing, and cleaning crews on industrial construction projects.

You will plan manpower, direct daily activities, review drawings and specs, and maintain quality and safety standards across the project scope. Strong leadership and communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 5+ years of industrial soft craft experience with supervisory responsibility.
• 2–3 years foreman or lead experience preferred.
• Experience in chemical, petrochemical, refinery, power, LNG, or heavy industrial facilities.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and procedures.
• Knowledge of OSHA and industrial safety requirements.
• Strong leadership and crew-management skills.
• Effective communication with employees, clients, subcontractors, and management.
• Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic reports.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of soft craft crews.
• Plan manpower requirements and assign employees to specific work areas.
• Provide daily direction and instruction to employees and subcontractors.
• Coordinate work activities with Operations, Maintenance, Construction, HSE, QA/QC, and other craft disciplines.
• Review drawings, work packages, specifications, and job requirements.
• Ensure crews understand scope, schedule, productivity, and quality requirements.
• Monitor productivity and adjust manpower and assignments as needed.
• Coordinate scaffold erection, modification, inspection, and dismantling when applicable.
• Oversee insulation installation/removal on piping, vessels, equipment, etc.
• Supervise painting/coating activities including surface prep and application.
• Coordinate fireproofing when included in scope.
• Oversee industrial cleaning and related soft craft activities.
• Maintain housekeeping and material storage; monitor progress against schedule.
• Lead toolbox talks and ensure safety compliance with PPE and procedures.
• Mentor journeymen, apprentices, and entry-level staff.
