Job summary

Topographic, Inc. is seeking a Survey Technician I in Allison Park, PA to execute technically complex land surveying assignments with emphasis on industrial site development and terrestrial laser scanning. You will process survey data, prepare deliverables, and review maps to ensure accuracy and compliance with property laws.

Responsibilities include researching sources for easements, using TBC and AutoCAD, producing base drawings, and QA/QC on projects. Travel to worksites may be required.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Thorough understanding of mathematics used in field survey analysis.
• Thorough understanding of methods of technical report writing and computer-assisted surveying.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret maps, title reports, and legal descriptions.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Know how to read civil plan sets and interpret stationing.

Responsibilities

• Perform research of county, city, and other sources of record information for easements and deeds to prepare working sketches.
• Process field crew data with Trimble Business Center and prepare files for AutoCAD import.
• Create survey base drawings from field data, photos, and reference maps.
• Produce subdivision maps, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys using AutoCAD.
• Prepare legal descriptions and exhibits for rights of way and parcels.
• Conduct QA/QC on work produced by self and others.
• Generate alignments and surface files for staking and facility planning.
• Review project plans and reference documents to support survey deliverables.
