Job summary

DPI Staffing is seeking an Industrial Sewing Operator for a temp-to-hire opportunity in the Portland, OR area near Swan Island. The role runs Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, with a pay rate of $18.00 per hour.

You will operate industrial sewing machines, follow work orders, and ensure product quality. The position requires prior sewing experience preferred, reliable attendance, and the ability to stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Prior industrial sewing or garment/tailoring experience preferred; on-the-job training available.
• Solid work history with consistent tenure.
• Punctual and reliable attendance in a fast-paced production environment.
• Comfortable standing and performing repetitive tasks for the duration of a shift.
• Reliable transportation is helpful, as public transit service to this location is limited.
• Must be able to pass a drug screening (THC excluded), background check, and MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial sewing machines to assemble and finish products to specification.
• Read work orders and follow patterns, measurements, and material specs accurately.
• Cut, prepare, and stage materials for sewing.
• Inspect finished work for quality and consistency.
• Use hand tools as needed to complete assigned tasks.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Wear required PPE at all times.

Pay: $18.00/ hr
